Senior Product Manager, New Product Development

Minted’s ability to continually innovate and bring new and beautifully designed products to market year after year has been a cornerstone of our success and growth.  We are seeking a talented Senior Product Manager, New Product Development who is passionate about design, merchandise, and creating amazing shopping experiences for consumers.  This individual will be responsible for executing our New Product Development roadmap, which introduces all new physical products to the Minted site including implementation of the related end-to-end consumer experience with those products from discovery to customization to unboxing.
This role is highly cross-functional with exposure to many departments and the highest levels of our organization, including the CEO.  The ideal candidate will thrive on building detailed requirements for engineering and then executing complicated development projects that include coordinating multiple work and testing streams across different departments that come together to launch the perfect product and experience for the Minted customer.

You will:

    • Partner with CEO, Director of New Product Development, E-commerce and merchandising teams to establish the product roadmap
    • Develop deep subject matter expertise in Minted’s physical products and related website shopping functionality and experiences
    • Attend weekly New Product Development meetings across all categories to provide project updates, understand strategies that inform roadmap decisions, and provide input to new projects and ideas being considered
    • Create detailed requirements for engineering that span all aspects of their development including product imagery, consumer experience, and fulfillment integrations
    • Build and manage cross-functional project plans that coordinate all work streams across Brand, Merchandise, Artist Relations, and Supply Chain to align with engineering project completion and enable ultimate launch of the product
    • Define and drive extensive end-to-end new product testing plan to be executed with help from QA team and key business stakeholders
    • Define, monitor, and report on key success metrics for engagement and uptake of newly launched products
    • Support, triage and prioritize bugs and production issues related to newly launched products

You are:

    • A strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively, create common knowledge, generate buy-in and influence stakeholders and senior management towards recommended decisions
    • A natural leader with the ability to balance and productively resolve contradictory demands and timelines in order to deliver against the company vision and goals
    • Someone with excellent product judgment, the ability to make sound judgements based on tradeoffs of different solutions, complex problems, various stakeholders, and many constraints

You have:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred
    • 4-6+ years of product management with a solid track record of developing and launching successful products
    • Demonstrated an understanding of technology/architecture and effective partnership with engineering to identify technical solutions based on tradeoffs of user experience, technical debt, latency, scalability, reliability, time to market etc.
    • Experience with e-Commerce, retail, or merchandising a plus
    • Creative and high-bandwidth problem-solving skills, to define a course of action in the face of significant complexity and ambiguity
    • Project management skills: Ability to plan, set expectations, make and meet commitments
    • Superb analytical skills: Ability to solve complex problems through analytics and data-driven approach to decision making
    • Focus on results-orientation: Proven capability to entirely own complex problems and deliver results regardless of impediments and resourcing
    • Strong Detail-orientation: Ability to identify and resolve edge cases as well as aesthetic and functional details in order to deliver a high-quality product experience
    • High Customer advocacy: Demonstrated understanding of and care for Minted customer through product development process
    • Intense commitment to quality: Demonstrated focus on quality of product/customer experience and testing/debugging until all pain points fade away
    • Fast twitch muscles: Thrives under pressure and working to aggressive timelines
