The Role
Grove is looking for a talented and highly-motivated individual to be a part of our growing Operations team. The HQ Operations manager will report to the Director of Operations, and work closely with the Inventory, Merchandising, Marketing, Engineering, and Analytics teams in our San Francisco HQ to ensure the Operations team is successful. The role will touch all facets of Operations and fulfillment but will have a special focus on logistics.

The Opportunity:

    • Liaison with Inventory, Merchandising, Marketing, Engineering, and Analytics teams to ensure Operations is communicative and supported
    • Supports operations with supply chain related issues and communicate changes in advance
    • Manage logistics between vendors, fulfillment centers, and distribution centers
    • Manage LTL/FTL freight carrier relationships, own and negotiate logistics contracts. Identify ways to reduce transportation cost
    • Analyze and implement new freight service offerings
    • Manage special projects, such as KPI performance, development of unit metrics, special research, etc.
    • Good collaboration, teamwork, and leadership qualities. The position will be working with a varied group of stakeholders, each of whom brings a different perspective and skill set to any given problem
    • Passion for problem solving: Able to tackle new and unfamiliar tactical and strategic problems.
    • Lead change in the areas they manage, recommend process and policy improvements and see them to resolution
    • Be a strong team player - enjoy working with colleagues at all levels of the organization
    • Thrive in the highly collaborative culture of a growing startup

About You:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, economics, supply chain, or a related field
    • 5+ years of operations experience (2+ in logistics or transportation management)
    • Direct experience with logistics management. Domestic transportation / 3PL experience preferred
    • High proficiency in Excel (pivot table, vlookup), presentations, and Google Suite (Sheets, Slides)
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Liaison with other departments by all mediums is a key part of this role.
    • Experience with data analytics / visualization


    • Experience managing a team
    • Experience with ERP and WMS
    • Data Analytics skills (Looker, SQL, Tableau)
