What You’ll Do

  • Participate in evaluations during due diligence for M&A activities to understand the strategic objectives, help assess the candidate company, and provide the early voice on integration planning, risks, and challenges
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan which includes all IT systems and data access work streams.
  • Lead and take ownership for all aspects of the integration or decommission efforts, working with a team of functional and technical experts from across the company.  
  • Forecasting integration budget that includes IT costs and staffing levels for each M&A transaction.
  • Track status and rapidly identify issues pertaining to an M&A deal, succinctly communicate those issues to the appropriate teams, evaluate risk mitigation options and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders.
  • Deliver IT Executive Summaries/Board Materials on impact, status, and IT metrics for a transaction
  • Manage other cross-functional programs of various sizes based on company needs
  • Continuously improve and scale the organization. Implement continuous improvements to the engineering organization and the program management process. Share program/project process frameworks, tools, and best practices that can be adopted throughout the organization. Improve product development and delivery. Mentor project management skills within our engineering leadership team.


What You’ll Need

  • Minimum of 5+ years of M&A experience in IT platform and organization integrations
  • Education: Business or Engineering background. MBA is desirable
  • Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges and risks. Engineers enjoy working closely with you.
  • Experienced in project management. Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and able to apply them where best suited.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to influence and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items.
  • Analytical and truth seeking. Ability to understand complex concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively.


Bonus Points If

  • PMP & Six Sigma certifications are a plus, not absolutely required
  • Computer Science degree, or related field.
  • Worked at a high paced, fast growing, scrappy tech startup.
  • Technical program management experience at an established company.


About the Team

The Uber Technology Services Team is seeking to expand the existing project execution capabilities with a tech savvy, enthusiastic, and data driven Sr. Program Manager. You will directing program management efforts for the company’s M&A deals (acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other similar strategic initiatives).  You will work alongside multiple business stakeholders across our Corporate Development, Legal, HR, Operations & Technical functions to drive the pre-merger integration planning and post-merger integration execution to achieve deal rationale, deal value drivers, and synergies. Your role will have a focus on evaluating business processes and procedures to minimize overall company risk, and creating technical solutions for complex business problems. You are a bridge and a connector for the company. You are intuitive, focused, driven, organized, insightful and productive. You break through communication issues and effectively develop relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
