About the Role


The Accounting Transformation team is responsible for designing and implementing the vision for the Accounting team in collaboration with key stakeholders across the broader Uber organization. We’re a diverse group of individuals with backgrounds across consulting, financial planning, accounting and systems that employ unique approaches to solve mission critical challenges for the executive finance team.  Our mission is to enable People, Process, Technology and Controls that leads to efficiencies and accuracy of data and information.


This role reports to Uber’s Director of Accounting Transformation and is responsible for helping execute the global vision for enabling an effective team within the accounting group.

What You’ll Do


  • Collaborate with several cross-functional teams to design, document, and operationalize financial reporting processes to support upcoming product offerings
  • Lead assessments of end to end processes related to operations and financial record to report, identify process integration & standardization opportunities, and develop & manage roadmaps to transform the business
  • Leverage key contacts across LOBs to stay abreast of changes to the business and represent the accounting teams in highlighting key considerations for the business to act on
  • Project manage key Accounting changes across people, process, and technology
  • Identify opportunities to streamline use of data, identify process improvements and coordinate with the finance, accounting teams on increasing efficiencies through technology, clearly documenting requirements and managing through execution
  • Synthesize and present multiple project objectives, statuses and KPI-based outcomes for executive management
  • Maintain a knowledge of the relevant system architecture and data flow that enable scalable processes for financial operations and reporting
  • Develop business requirements to build well controlled business processes to scale the Company’s global financial reporting processes
  • Work with regional teams as needed to ensure that local requirements are considered in the development of the global policies and procedures
  • Identify improvement opportunities based on continuous feedback across stakeholder groups

What You’ll Need


  • 4+ years of business / financial process development, finance / accounting, and project management experience
  • Experience in management consulting and some systems is a plus
  • BS/BA degree in finance, accounting, and/or related field
  • MBA or CPA is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience of leading global projects with measurable business impact
  • Deep understanding of business operations, specifically accounting and financial analysis & planning
  • Familiar with what a mature finance organization looks like and can develop clear action plans to achieve milestones
  • Comfortable diving deep into technical problems and working through solutions with subject matter experts
  • Critical thinker ready to problem solve within different areas of the operations and finance organizations
  • Understands financial process, technology, and general org structure
  • Good command of written, verbal, coordination and presentation skills. Excellent research skill.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office; knowledge of Oracle, OneSource, HFM a plus
  • Self-motivated with great attention to detail, project management and organizational skills and demonstrates strong ownership of tasks
  • Skills to author requirements documents, technical specifications, interface mapping documents, and process flows.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and high-growth organization, and to develop and sustain relationships internally and cross-functionally  
  • Passion for Uber’s mission and the company’s hybrid technology / operations nature

  • SQL and BI reporting
  • Revenue and OpEx accounting, financial close, budgeting and forecasting, GAAP standards, SOX compliance

We build scalable & controlled processes and help implement accounting systems and automation for our Global Accounting function.
