This position will be focused on helping Udemy define the growth strategy for the mobile app and execute on mobile campaigns to both new and existing users.

    • Lead and Develop a holistic mobile strategy for growing and monetizing our global mobile user base.
    • Lead app store optimization (ASO) efforts across both the iOS App Store and Google Play through A/B testing, managing search keywords, screenshots, videos, icons, and reviews to maximize install rate and rankings.
    • Manage the localization of our app store presence to maximize our global appeal and provide a better experience for our international users.
    • Mentor and coach other mobile team members, through sharing past knowledge and industry best practices.
    • Work with our Apple and Google representatives to get featured in their app store promotions, including home page, category pages, and Apple’s iOS 11 editorial content.
    • Collaborate with strategy, product and engineering to identify and drive promotions and product features that will help get us featured in app stores and drive installs, including push notifications and more.
    • Work with other mobile team members on paid user acquisition online marketing programs for Udemy’s mobile app from strategy to execution.
    • Drive mobile installs to existing user base and improve user retention and LTV.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to drive mobile installs to existing user base and improve user retention and LTV.
    • Work with product and data infrastructure teams to build a source of truth for cross-device mobile campaigns that will help us design successful acquisition and retention strategies.
    • Help improve our understanding of campaign effectiveness and holistic mobile acquisition strategies using first-party data (SQL, Excel) and third-party data tools (Appsflyer.)
    • Stay on top of the many latest development in mobile marketing, across individual apps and Apple and Google’s changes.
    • Identify opportunities to drive paid installs outside of traditional ads “duopoly” e.g. mobile app networks, affiliates, etc.
    • Collaborate with designers to develop compelling ad creative that will resonate with prospective students in key international markets.
    • QA ad creative (format and translation) to ensure error free deployment.
    • Influence and improve our paid traffic and monetization strategy for mobile web campaigns and ensure coordination between these campaigns and app acquisition.
    • Support additional paid acquisition efforts as needed including seasonal promotions, category expansion etc.


    • 4-6 years experience in mobile acquisition with an additional 4 years in consumer internet marketing, advertising or other related fields
    • Highly structured and an analytical approach to problem solving -- you love digging into the numbers and uncovering hidden opportunities
    • Understanding of the mobile space, including the key players and technical hurdles and how it differs from traditional digital advertising
    • Comfort with the uncertainty that comes with new initiatives, you don’t need a certain set of tools to succeed, your happy to build your own or figure out your own insights
    • Strong leadership and mentorship skills. This can potentially be a managerial role
    • Excellent written communication and copywriting skills, as well as a strong creative intuition on messaging and designs that resonate with consumers
    • A strong disposition for data-driven decision making; ability to write SQL queries (or desire to learn)
    • A team-oriented mindset and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals
    • A willing to help where needed and be flexible. We are a growing company and what works today may not work tomorrow.
