Description

Science Exchange is looking for a Director, Provider Business Development to build and expand relationships with strategic providers on the Science Exchange marketplace. This role will report to the Team Lead, Provider Partnerships and will work with a diverse range of business functions and teams across Science Exchange.  To be successful in this role, it is imperative to work well independently with minimum direction, yet successfully collaborate as needed to achieve business goals.
 
The ideal candidate for this role will:
- Have a proven track record in building and maintaining productive relationships with large, complex organizations in the biopharma, life sciences and/or technology markets
- Have a strong scientific background and be able to successfully communicate with providers
- Be able to create business opportunities that are mutually beneficial for both our providers and for Science Exchange
- Be able to design and deliver powerful solution-driven capabilities and value propositions to large contract research organizations (CROs), getting buy-in at each level
 
This is a great opportunity for a self-starter who is excited about defining, developing, owning, and executing a plan that delivers aggressive growth on the supply side of our business.

Roles & Responsibilities

    • Managing strategic relationships with key providers
    • Developing, implementing, and managing new programs to deliver value to Science Exchange providers
    • Prospecting for new opportunities (e.g. networking, lead generation, relationship building, lead follow-up), with an end goal of executing a strategic supplier agreement
    • Collaborating closely with other functions of the company (particularly customer success, product, sales, and marketing) to deliver an exceptional experience for the providers on the Science Exchange marketplace
    • Positioning and communicating our unique capabilities to providers, including preparing and delivering presentations, with the end goal of selling them on the value of a relationship with Science Exchange
    • Representing Science Exchange at conferences and industry networking events
    • Recognizing where we can add value to providers and executing on projects to realize that value

Qualifications & Requirements

    • BA/BS degree required, business/science-related fields preferred
    • 5+ years of scientifically related sales, business development, or vendor management experience
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills
    • Experience in program management and/or development
    • Excellent industry awareness and analytical skills; strong understanding of CRO industry
    • Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities
    • Demonstrated ability to work creatively in a fast-paced, occasionally ambiguous, environment
    • Ability to travel up to 25%
    • Preferred location is Boston, MA or New York / New Jersey but open to San Francisco Bay Area (we have offices in San Francisco and Palo Alto)
    • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
    • Start-up experience is a plus
    • Experience with Salesforce, Excel, or data visualization tools is a plus
