Global Data Analyst - Business Development

 

About the Role

The Business Development team is looking for a self-starter who will work cross-functionally with the Data Science, Engineering, Product, and Finance teams to conduct analysis and build tools to support Uber’s strategic partnership activities. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical and communication skills and an outstanding ability to translate data into actionable business strategies.

 

What you'll do

  • Analyze and assess the impact of BD across a variety of deals by applying creative approaches rooted in statistics and mathematics, in order to inform future deal constructs.
  • Mine data and analytics at the customer level to gain a better understanding of their usage behaviors. Provide deep insight and discover opportunities that drive the business.
  • Effectively communicate data methodology and present results to a diverse set of stakeholders. Translate numbers into actionable business strategy, and act as a thought partner to various Business Development team leads globally.
  • Continually improve and automate our methods for parsing data and incorporating it into models, analyses, and actions. Choose the proper metrics for goal setting and tracking.
  • Implement and analyze A/B or Multi-Variate Tests to provide actionable insights.
  • Interface with external executives alongside seasoned BD professionals for complex deals and relationships.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Economics, Math, Computer Science, Statistics, Management Science or other related experience.
  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in a quantitative or analytical role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience utilizing common open source tools – such as Python or R – to work efficiently at scale. Proficiency with multiple analytical and database tools (e.g Jupyter notebooks, Hive, Presto, Vertica).
  • Excellent data visualization skills. Experience creating dashboards in Tableau or a similar visualization tool a plus.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to summarize and present large amounts of data.
  • Speed, resourcefulness and a go-getter attitude.
