Minted launched its Fine Art Reproductions business in 2012, sourcing art from a community of independent emerging artists from around the world and selling limited edition fine art prints to consumers. Minted launched its Commissioned Original Art business in 2016, allowing consumers to contact Minted artists directly and commission original works of art.
Minted is seeking a strategic Creative Director, Art who brings deep experience from the traditional art world yet is curious to learn, is eager to create a meritocratic environment for more ‘outside’ artists to succeed, and wants to offer consumers a new way of buying art. This leader will manage the Minted Art brand and its presentation in marketing materials, help identify artist talent alongside our art merchants and artist relations team, and partner with our product design and development team to guide towards museum-quality presentation (printing, paper, framing and mounting) of Minted art. The ideal candidate will bring deep curation and art advisory experience to help curate a sophisticated but approachable art assortment that drives retail success. This individual will leverage deep connections in the art world, both traditional and emerging, to expand Minted’s artist community. This individual will develop Minted’s business into new areas, for example original art and three-dimensional art. Finally, this person will thrive on building the Minted art name through innovative projects and creative collaborations with widespread art communities in the US and overseas.
