About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow a Data Science team that supports critical financial decisions. The leader of this team will manage a team of data scientists that tackle challenging forecasting & optimization problems in financial planning and customer behavior prediction problems for budgetary and product decisions. We will continue improving our strategies and solutions in these two areas, and are looking to grow the team in support of IPO readiness.

What You’ll Do


  • Lead and hire a team of up to 10 Data Scientists
  • Shape financial and business strategies with data-driven insights and algorithms
  • Prioritize business initiatives and lead the team to deliver an ever-expanding portfolio of data science projects
  • Develop statistical, machine learning, and optimization models to enhance financial efficiency
  • Partner with product management and engineering to Identify opportunities to automate and scale data science solutions
  • Create strategy for long-lasting business value generation and team development plan
  • Evangelize advances in data science to key business stakeholders
  • Influence senior leadership on building data-driven business decisioning processes



What You’ll Need


  • background in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Masters or PhD degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in machine learning, forecasting, or optimization. Experience with financial data a plus.
  • 2+ years of people management and leadership experience.
  • Demonstrable proficiency with Python, R, or other general-purpose programming languages.
  • Excellent data ETL skills with Hive, Presto, Vertica, or similar database systems.
  • Experience managing projects and stakeholders with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • You love different ideas and know how to flex different muscles to drive results.
  • You speak the same language with cross-functional teams.
  • You not only execute but also love to think creatively and help team work smarter.



Bonus Points


  • Successful experience in leading high-impact, multi-team projects
  • Extensive experience in strategy, team building, recruiting, and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Proficiency with Hadoop and Spark ecosystems.
  • Knowledgeable in deep learning, non-convex optimization, dynamic programming, Gaussian process, or hierarchical time series.
