About the Role

 

Lead the team that is responsible for 24x7 high transactional databases on Oracle, MySQL, Amazon RDS, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, SQL Server and Hadoop. The team has established a track record of five 9s availability for all core database systems.
Plan and execute migration of Oracle databases from the private datacenter to Amazon RDS.
Responsible for big data real-time feed solutions into enterprise data hub, used for data processing, BI/reporting and data analytics.
Manage production and development of database clusters based.
Performs database administration functions for Oracle and other database systems.
Architect new database designs.
Automate database deployments, upgrades, and monitoring.
Assists developers with tuning SQL in applications.
Implements MySQL High Availability (HA), partitioning and replication features.
Manage on-call rotation for database support.

 

 

What You'll Do

 

  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • You have extensive experience engineering, administering and managing relational databases (Oracle, Aurora/Mysql, SQL Server)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Solid focus on people development and coaching staff members
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related IT field preferred.
  • You have worked with database replication (GoldenGate, DataGuard) and streaming of data (Kafka, Kinesis)
  • You know how to operate and scale a service in AWS, i.e. EC2, RDS.
  • Work experience in logical and physical data modeling.
  • Experience in designing indexes, SQL queries, and resultant explanation of access paths for optimizing the SQL.
  • Experience and success in automating administrative tasks.
  • Strong understanding of hardware performance, memory and I/O.
  • You have experience with installation and maintenance of database software.
  • Linux / Unix operating systems
  • Good scripting/coding experience with any of the following: SQL, Unix Shell or Python.
