About the Role

 

The Community Resource Manager role requires exceptional customer empathy, diligence, content development -- one who knows how to take questions and connect across organizations to find answers and provide clarity. Build clear, concise, and impactful content to help people find the answers they're looking for, improve existing content to fill gaps increasing the efficiency and deepening the transparency and understanding people have around our processes and their involvement. As we consistently seek to make improvements, this person will work to facilitate focus groups and gathering of feedback through surveys, and dive in deeper to extract out more detail to understand areas of improvement over all.  Ultimately, the role exists to be the key touch point for the organization and the folks that are building, developing, and executing Uber's engineering promotion process.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Exceptional written communication skills. Developing content so that it is clear, relevant, meaningful, concise, and impactful to the community engaged in the process.
  • Extreme customer empathy. Meaningful engagement, clarity, time to resolution, and precision in this space is extremely important for helping our organization both feel heard and supported in our processes.
  • Diligence in the details and highly resourceful. Not being afraid to chase down answers from resources both in and outside our team, and really making sure every i is dotted and t is crossed in the responses you create.
  • Strong sense of ownership and pride in your work product. Being responsible for content that thousands of engineers will depend on as they work to understand a process- making sure that the content is not only effective but connects to people so that they both trust and seek it out.
  • Independant problem solver. When a conflict arises you are able to think through multiple resolutions and pick the best one.

 

 

What You’ll Need

 

  • Work with Perf/Promo and engineering community to manage day to day questions and answers during the promotion cycle
  • Bootstrap and manage the Engineering Promotions content portal providing direction and critical information to thousands of engineers on the engineering promotion process.
  • Improve and iterate on existing content to direct people's questions to self service answers
  • Identify gaps in our training materials and work with our training developers to fill those gaps.
  • Coordinate and set up focus groups as we iterate on process revisions;
  • Author and aggregate survey information to better understand opportunities for improvement or pain points in the process.
  • Follow up on key items to build better understanding and clarity on feedback
  • Must be willing coordinate rooms, coordinate post-cycle celebration, and help with catering, etc. No job can be too big or too small.

 

Bonus Points If

 

  • Analytics background.  He/she has collected, structured and analyzed data to drive key insights.  Then experience using those using data insights can drive decisions and solutions through the organization.
  • Design background. Creating visualizations to help provide more clarity and/or increase engagement through beautifully laid out content.
  • Experience working in Technology organization and/or Engineering team.
  • Experience with Human Resources and Perf/Promo Process
  • Experience at the Global scale.  
  • Experience with Confluence

 

About the Team

 

You will work within the new and growing Engineering Executive Operations Team to support the many talented engineering teams at Uber!  The Engineering Executive Operations Team is responsible for optimizing operations across all engineering areas.
