About the Role

As a Product Manager on the Insurance team, you will focus on ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, To that end, you will drive the product strategy and execution to build and manage game changing internal tools and workflows for Uber employees on the Insurance Operations Team. The team supports our users (drivers and riders) with care, empathy, and speed when things go wrong (e.g. accident, property damage, injury etc.) This is a highly critical and visible role that has tangible impact on both, customer experience as well as company’s bottomline.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for guiding internal tools product strategy and roadmap for Insurance support teams
  • Write requirements and implement changes to streamline internal tools workflows as well as 3rd party integrations and configurations
  • Build strong connections with your internal customers to understand their needs to inform the roadmap. Capture these opportunities in user stories, business flow diagrams and requirements
  • Drive execution working closely with operations, data science, analytics, engineering, to ensure a robust operational tools framework.
  • Strive to make internal team experience joyful and efficient
  • Customer-centricity - you have many examples from your past of tough product issues that you persevered through to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Continually measure progress and solicit critical feedback to ensure maximum impact and learning

What You’ll Need

 

  • At least four years of experience driving delivery of support platform-oriented products
  • Technical proficiency: understanding of data modeling, data infrastructure, workflows between internal systems. We don’t need you to code, but you should be able to understand it and be able to communicate what’s needed to our engineering team.
  • Excellent understanding of integration, web application and data technical domains, experience working with enterprise products, internal operations, and vendors
  • Experience in consulting a plus
  • Good business sense - you can see how impacting one lever in a complex system affects many others.
  • Demonstrated passion for operations platforms
  • Organized and structured approach to managing project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies across systems/teams.
  • Not afraid to take a deep dive into metrics and data whether it’s to diagnose a problem, evaluate a solution or propose a new KPI. You have experience using analytics tools (e.g. Tableau)
