Shared Rides Growth is the team that brings more riders to Uber’s most affordable transportation products, and over time, grows those rider relationships into consistency, loyalty, and habituation. Today, Uber serves a fraction of 1% of all passenger miles, and the riders and the rides that will bring us dramatic 10X - 100X growth towards 10% of global passenger miles need affordability and reliability in order to trust Uber with their transportation needs.
In addition to the classic growth dynamics of any digital product, Shared Rides has unique geospatial aspects to growth success. Since we match riders together to reduce costs, our ability to sustainably serve a given rider is dependent on exactly when and where the rider travels on Uber. Thus our ability to invest in attracting and retaining riders is influenced by the existence of geospatially compatible co-riders with whom we can effectively and consistently match them.
Your role, as PM of shared rides growth, is to work closely with a team of engineers, data scientists, and designers to deeply understand the metrics and data of both our existing riders and prospective riders; to build effective systems and models to segment, acquire, and engage new and existing riders; and to identify and deliver both incremental and step-change improvements to shared rides products to make them more effective at sustainably growing usage. As the product manager you will identify key metrics and goals, set priorities, and develop and execute on the vision, strategy and roadmap for the team. You are highly customer obsessed, deep into data and user research, and excel at leading a talented team of engineers, designers, data scientists and others to deliver on this mission.
This role has a global scope, touching on the widely varying needs of students in Boston and commuters in Bangalore, and many more important use cases in dozens of large cities worldwide.
