The Client Engineering team focuses on all the end user facing components through which users interact with BlueJeans’ platform.
You'll manage a team of engineers working on the iOS Client for the company. You'll work closely with your engineering leads, product managers, designers, QA engineers and other engineering teams to bring our vision for mobile @ BlueJeans to life. This is a leadership role, and you are expected to ensure you are constantly blocking and tackling on behalf of your team’s execution plan. You will be contributing to our flagship client application on iOS and building the next generation of intelligent video collaboration.
Responsibilities • You’ll be responsible for mentoring and managing the team working on iOS with weekly 1-1s, quarterly check-ins, and an annual performance review in line with HR guidance • You will be expected to review designs, manage dependencies on other teams and set and deliver on high-quality, well thought out estimates • You'll be responsible for recruiting, growing and mentoring a strong team of talented and motivated engineers with high expectations around individual ownership and impact • You'll foster a healthy and collaborative culture that embodies BlueJeans’ values. • You'll be expected to take a metrics driven approach to measuring team and product progress that can provide objective insights • You'll set direction for the team, anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges via thoughtful long-term technical planning with partners in product, finance and business
• You will help craft disruptive technical, product and design strategy
Requirements • 5+ years of management/lead experience with an engineering team working on MacOS or iOS • 5+ years of experience as a MacOS/iOS software developer - familiarity with the Apple development/deployment ecosystem is a must • A proven track record of building/maintaining a high concurrent traffic app • A proven track record of delivering company success via your leadership • A proven track record of working with remote engineering teams over video • Expertise in Swift and/or Objective C, and interest in the Apple dev ecosystem’s evolution • Prior experience in efficient automation/CI/CD/TDD and tight feedback loops for developers • Strong understanding of design-first thinking and UI frameworks • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high EQ • References from peers and prior employees you managed • BS or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
You get bonus points for: • Prior experience with video/audio technologies and codecs like WebRTC, H323, H264. • Delivered an app with high ratings (4+) currently in the App Stores • Track record of Open Source contributions to significant projects • Deep understanding of performance measurement and optimization
