Job Description

Turnitin is seeking a Inside Sales Representative to join our Higher Ed Sales Team!

We are searching for people who demonstrate a passion for education and technology, are collaborative and entrepreneurial in spirit, have solid educational sales experience and who can contribute to our continuing success and growth. The Inside Sales Rep role will handle all business accounts under 5,000 FTE, and will focus on fostering relationships with these accounts in order to maintain their current subscription while introducing new and exsisting products and services in order to generate new sales.  

This is a quota carrying inside sales position focused on selling and renewing Turnitin’s software and services to a geographic territory account base. The target market includes public and private Higher Ed institutions and schools. 


This position reports to the Regional Sales Manager

Position Responsibilities:

  • Focus on developing and closing new business and nourish existing renewal business
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals via constant updated territory plans, regular 1:1’s, sales campaigns, quarterly soft metrics and more. 
  • Maintain and nourish a strong customer relationship throughout an extended sales and renewal cycle through the use of tasks, TRUE reports and other marketing resources.
  • Establish and ensure proper use of Salesforce for accuracy of CRM data and sales activity tracking through forecasting, lead management, pipeline building, strategically identifying, maximizing on and closing opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively, through both verbal and written correspondence, with teachers, information technology and procurement personnel and decision-makers at the school, using the appropriate Turnitin verbiage and educational technology and education market vernacular.
  • Demonstrate the product line to prospective clients in both live and web-based environments.
  • Thorough understanding of the product line, including, but not limited to: features, benefits, compatibility, pricing/configuration, application, correlation to and use in the client environment using the current Turnitin Next positioning and value propositions.
  • Assist our training and support staff as necessary to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and maximize renewal potential.
  • Adhere to set processes while qualified opportunities are moved through the sales cycle and successfully pass the Salesforce assessments through the year.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • 2 - 3 yrs. experience in a quota-driven inside sales role.
  • Demonstrable quality writing skills, excellent phone presence, and professional manner.
  • Verifiable history of exceeding sales quotas and recognized success.
  • Strong lead generation and prospecting experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team or individually in a changing environment.
  • Clear understanding of the education industry and/or technology sales.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce
