About the Role

The Customer Platform team is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager with experience building high scale services, big data, and experience with building user personalization platforms. As an Eng Manager for the Customer Platform, you'll be responsible for the architecture and delivery of the next-gen user platform that tracks the end-to-end lifecycle and journey of the user to build a unified, comprehensive 360 degree view used for driving contextual experiences, personalization, cross-selling different products. You will be responsible for building a high-performance & inclusive team, hiring and mentoring engineers, determine the strategic direction of the team, and define our long-term roadmap.

 

What You’ll Do
    • Lead a team to build a world-class user platform that provides features like security, authorization, auditing, searching, compliance, eventing for all Uber users in a safe, reliable and controlled manner.
    • Develop systems and software to standardize the company on one definition of a user that can have several product facing roles - rider, driver, partner, eater, biker, business, employee
    • Build out a single, unified, comprehensive view of our customers called “Customer 360” by tracking and analyzing their activity , enabling teams to make smart inferences about user behavior and enable wide-spread personalization and cross-selling of Uber products.
    • Unlock capabilities for searching, cohorting, tagging and segmentation of users for numerous product & ops use-cases.
    • Manage one of the largest-scale services at Uber that require tackling challenging distributed systems problems around scalability, reliability, low latency, active-active, high-availability
    • Partner with product teams to help identify opportunities, gather requirements, and lead a technology roadmap and vision for the team
    • Recruit, inspire, and grow a top notch engineering team
