The Job
The Director of Insurance Operations will play a critical project management role on the Insurance Team working with the Director of Insurance Product Development, Director of Underwriting, and Director of Claims with all tasks related to program development and implementation of Boost’s Insurtech Partners including development of rates, forms, underwriting guidelines, and sound claims and reporting strategies.  Reporting directly to the Head of Insurance Strategy, the candidate will project manage the day to day operations of the Insurance Team to help bring insurance program concepts from ideation to launch.  This role will work cross-functionally with the Growth, Technology, and Legal Teams to assist with due diligence, implementation, and ongoing management of Boost’s Insurtech Partner’s programs.  The Director of Insurance Ops will also assist with all reporting needs, program audits, and coordinate program implementation with our fronting carrier and reinsurance partners. The candidate will be responsible for managing complicated projects and ensuring that implementation timelines are met.
The role requires a hungry, driven, self-starter with the ability to navigate across teams and handle multiple projects at once while maintaining pristine organization.
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible; no later than February 1, 2019.

Role & Responsibilities

    • Assist with the day to day operations and project management of Boost’s Insurance Team
    • Work closely with the Growth, Technology, and Legal Teams to assist with the due diligence, selection, and implementation of new Boost Insurtech Partners, focusing on bringing the insurance voice to the conversation.
    • Handle all necessary reporting for our Fronting Partners, Reinsurance Facility, Insurtech Partners, and Vendors related to insurance strategy 
    • Assist the Head of Insurance Strategy with Requests for Proposals (“RFPs”) to third party vendors related to new insurance products including actuarial and product development/filing firms and claims TPAs.
    • Project manage implementation timelines for the Insurance Team, coordinating all parties
    • Collaborate cross functionally with the Growth, Technology, and Legal teams to assist in implementation and ongoing management of Boost’s Insurtech Partners
    • Work with Boost Legal Team and Insurtech Partners to manage insurance-related tasks to handle any market conduct examination findings
    • Manage multiple projects at once, ensuring pristine organization
    • Handle ad hoc projects as needed
    • Support Head of Insurance Strategy with all communication with Boost’s reinsurance and carrier partners.

Job Requirements

    • Must have 5-10 year’s professional experience
    • Must be highly organized and efficient
    • Must have experience managing multiple projects at once
    • Must have working knowledge of the insurtech startup market and strong intellectual curiosity
    • Must be in NY full-time, no relocation expense reimbursement
    • Strong preference for insurance experience, but not necessary

Compensation & Benefits

    • $100,000 - $125,000 salary + equity commensurate with experience and company stage
