BlueJeans is currently looking for a Director of Accounting that is passionate about implementing controls, improving processes, and leaving a legacy while taking BlueJeans accounting function to the next level. In this capacity, you will work closely with cross functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Reporting directly to VP of Finance, an ideal candidate should possess progressive accounting experience, can think strategically on a process level, and is also comfortable getting into the details. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly and quarterly financial close activities (including consolidation) by running a disciplined close process and coordinating activities and analysis with teams across the accounting and finance organization
  • Responsible for supporting the full cycle general ledger monthly close process and related activities to ensure accounts are properly reconciled, reported and in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Manage revenue operations and accounting, and participate in requirements gathering and implementation of key systems and processes related to the adoption of ASC 606
  • Responsible for monthly flux variance analysis and thorough understanding of accounts
  • Assist with process improvement and automation across all areas of Accounting
  • Draft and implement key policies and procedures
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounts Payable and Payroll teams – establish performance metrics to drive accountability and measure improvement
  • Main point of contact for external auditors related to the financial statement audit
  • Oversee and direct Payroll procedures, ensuring payroll expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time
  • Assist with technical accounting issues including the preparation of key accounting memos
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of annual audits on global basis
  • Business partnering with various internal teams and external business partners to drive end to end process improvement and collaboration
  • Preparation for Sarbanes Oxley compliance, and ownership of controls within function

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required; CPA is preferred
  • 10+ years of management experience in a fast paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP including revenue recognition, commission amortization, and stock-based comp
  • SaaS company experience preferred with system knowledge of NetSuite, Zuora and ADP
  • Big 4, public company and IPO experience preferred
  • Liaise with tax accountants on corporate taxes.
  • Responsible for tax and other filings (e.g. sales taxes, property taxes, Delaware registration, etc.)
  • Must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, work with others (including remote team) and follow through to execute tasks
  • Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
