Position Overview
 
Exabeam is hiring a motivated Sr. Content Marketing Manager who will play a central role in our marketing outreach. This person will contribute to and help define the content strategy for Exabeam and will plan and manage the production of blog posts, e-books, guides, reports, case studies, videos and infographics used to attract customers and support and accelerate the buyers’ journey. The role involves content writing and editing; creation and management of an editorial calendar; sourcing ideas for new articles and assets; and coordinating with internal marketing team members, company-wide contributors, contractors, and freelancers.
 
The Sr. Content Marketing Manager is responsible for creating compelling content that attracts readers, encourages them to subscribe to our updates, and ultimately builds trust in the brand. This person should be an energetic and articulate individual with significant writing and editing experience. Strong communications skills are essential to this role.  The ideal candidate is digitally-savvy and innately curious and can simplify complex ideas for broader consumption. This role is based at the Exabeam HQ in San Mateo, CA and reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

    • Conceive content strategy, source and manage content creators, and oversee content production—with the end goals of driving awareness, influencer engagement, customer acquisition, and ongoing customer success
    • Identify the content needed to support and extend marketing initiatives and determine which methods work for the business and why
    • Develop and edit research studies, surveys, infographics, blogs, bylines, customer case studies and other content
    • Write original content
    • Ensure all content is consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, mobile, video, print and in-person
    • Interact with writers, copyeditors, content strategists; be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style
    • Integrate content activities into PR efforts and traditional and digital marketing campaigns, including social media
    • Work with content owners to revise and measure content to be effective, support marketing goals and drive behavioral metrics
    • Establish workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content
    • Develop and maintain a functional content calendar and define owners in each vertical to particular persona groups

Knowledge and Skills

    • 5+ years of writing experience and 3+ years of editing experience. The best candidate will have better than 10 years’ total experience in this space
    • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field
    • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a track record of great content production
    • Creativity and curiosity to create or unearth content ideas
    • Ability to interact with individuals across the organization, in all departments, in search of great content. Maturity to handle customer and partner interviews and collaboration.
    • Experience managing freelance writers, editors and graphic designers a must
    • Organized and detail-oriented
    • Experience conceiving infographics and writing video or audio scripts
    • Entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to act effectively in a fast-paced environment with only high-level direction is essential
    • Experience with security, cloud, or subscription a plus
