We are looking for individuals that are passionate with implementing controls, improving processes, and leaving a legacy while taking Qubole’s accounting function to the next level. In this capacity, you will work closely with cross functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Reporting directly to VP of Finance, an ideal candidate should possess progressive accounting experience, can think strategically on a process level, and is also comfortable getting into the details.

What you'll be doing

    • Manage quarterly and annual financial statement reporting; constantly drive improvements through automation and process refinement to shorten the close while maintaining the quality and accuracy
    • Ensure timely and accurate internal and external financial reporting
    • Overall oversight of functional areas include prepaids, payroll, GL, fixed assets and APPlan, control and direct corporate accounting activities ensuring compliance with GAAP, statutory guidelines and internal financial policies and procedures
    • Ensure that all financial systems are properly leveraged, integrated, and upgraded to capture and produce timely and accurate information and support organizational growth and change
    • Involvement in strategic initiatives, including M&A activity, as needed
    • Develop and drive necessary financial policies, procedures, and internal controls and play a leading role in directing change initiatives
    • Create a customer-centric organization that interacts frequently with key Finance stakeholders in FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Regional Controllership and other organizations
    • Leverage a solid understanding of complex accounting rules and related interpretations to provide timely, accurate, and easy-to-understand guidance to key decision makers and other stakeholders

Required skills and experiences

    • 8-10 years of progressive experience within an accounting organization; preferably within a high-growth environment; multi-national experience
    • Strong foundational knowledge of GAAP, as well as accounting operations and systems
    • Strong people management skills (hiring, people development, change management, mentoring) - you will be a key member of the team that will take Qubole to the next level
    • Demonstrated success in building enterprise processes that support growth, delight the customers of the process, while protecting the assets of the company
    • Experience with M&A transactions strongly preferred
    • 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager role
    • CPA required
    • Big 4 or equivalent national accounting firm is highly preferred
    • BS degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
