Madison Reed is expanding our accounting department in San Francisco! We are looking for a highly-talented and technically proficient individual with a good amount of hands on experience in Public Accounting and/or operating roles at growing companies. In this position you will be heavily involved in the full spectrum of Accounting responsibilities, with an opportunity to contribute and grow your skillset in all parts of company operations. This position addresses a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit coordination and ERP system
implementation. The successful candidate will report directly to our Controller and play an instrumental role in the financial future of the company.


What We'll Expect: 

  • Own all day-to-day accounting operations including: Accounts Payable, Payroll, AR and Cash functions
  • Drive the monthly close activities from the view of process improvements towards faster and tighter
    close cycle.
  • Prepare quarterly ASC 718 stock-based compensation entries and ensure the proper recording of all
    equity transactions.
  • Assist with coordination of the first year GAAP financial statement audit process.
  • Work to continually improve and strengthen the internal control environment in an effort to scale the
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly external and internal financial statement reporting and provide any
    additional reporting and analyses as needed
  • Assist in implementation of complex technical accounting issues (including researching accounting
    guidance and preparation of technical accounting memo)
  • Assist in implementation of the new ERP system
  • Assist in completion of sales tax filing
  • Work cross-functionally with various business partners to drive and achieve Company wide targets
    (FPA, Supply Chain, Marketing, Real Estate, Engineering, etc.)


What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years hands-on progressive accounting and finance experience with at least 4+ years Big 4
    experience. CPA license required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong people leader with proven ability to lead from the heart, inspire trust and confident, recruit,
    motivate and coach the team
  • Self-starter, organized, analytical, continuous learner / curious, and sense of humor
  • Hands on and proactive approach to problem solving in addition to being highly detail-oriented and
    project manage various projects
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP including lease accounting, revenue recognition, capitalization, stock-
    based compensation, accounting for inventory, debt and equity transactions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to exercise reasonable judgment based on
    facts in ambiguous situation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to succinctly communicate complex
    messaging in a credible and clear manner
  • Experience in implementing new process and / or policies
  • Advance Excel and Power Point skills and high system aptitude
  • Comfort and ability to work with high volume of data and ability to interpret and tell relevant and
    meaningful story
