Software Engineering Intern - Web Development, Team Engage

Udemy’s Team Engage is responsible for the communications features of the Udemy website. We keep students engaged with their instructors and vice versa.  We are looking for an engineering intern to join us to help users on our platform communicate efficiently and effectively, improving existing features and add new ones.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

    • Improve code quality and performance in various ways
    • Write well-tested code and participate in code reviews
    • Grow your software engineering skills with the help of strong mentorship.

We’re excited about you because you have:

    • Experience writing code in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
    • Experience using a version control system such as Git
    • Experience using both object-oriented programming as well as some functional programming concepts (closures, map, promises)
    • Experience with some form of server-side programming (using JavaScript with Node, Python, or any other language).

Nice to haves:

    • ES6
    • Python
    • Linux command line
    • Git
    • Writing tests for your code
    • React
