About the Role

Enabling a seamless payments experience for everyone on the Uber platform- whether it’s our drivers, riders, restaurants, or truckers- is one of the cornerstones of what makes the Uber experience magical. As a PM on the Payments team focused on credit/risk management, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring this experience remains magical. You will have the opportunity to pioneer entirely new systems and methodologies that assess an individual’s risk based on their previous behavior on the platform, which will in turn unlock new experiences and platform capabilities for our best customers, while ensuring bad actors are given limited avenues for abuse.


What You’ll Do


  • Design and implement new, end-to-end risk models that help product teams across Uber quickly & easily gauge a user’s risk level on the platform
  • Develop a business, risk and operational model to support batch billing and threshold billing to empower new businesses at Uber.
  • Partner with Research, Data Science, and other PM stakeholders throughout the company to better understand how these models can be leveraged to unlock magical new experiences across all of Uber’s core customer demographics
  • Work with teams across the company to design and implement new experiences that are unlocked by good behavior on the platform, leveraging these new risk models  
  • Own the end-to-end metrics of these new experiences, driving alignment across Product & Tech on the target KPIs, as well as setting and delivering on KPI goals each Half
  • Own the narrative- drive the storytelling of your team to help recruit engineers, designers, and data scientists who are excited about the Mission of enabling even more magic on the Uber Platform; evangelize your product experiences to internal customers across the global Tech & Operations organizations at Uber  


What You’ll Need


  • Minimum 5 years Product Management experience
  • 2+ years previous experience in Credit or Risk Management
  • Both a passion for user experience and system design, as well as a strategic, growth-centric outlook on scaling new business lines
  • A love for formulating a brand new product vision leveraging Research and Data Science inputs (“going zero to one”), getting buy-in from key stakeholders across the organization, and breaking down this vision into a tangible roadmap
  • Strong vision & storytelling skills- an ability to distill complex concepts into simple, compelling narratives that inspire individuals across the organization
  • Strong data-driven prioritization skills
  • Strong communication and partnership skills- this will be an extremely cross-functional role, with stakeholder teams spanning multiple offices globally
  • Academic background in computer science, data science, statistics, economics, or engineering
