About the Role


As Uber continues to expand its services and technologies around the world, the Global Business Development (BD) team is looking for a sharp, energetic, and creative dealmaker and partner manager to help manage and grow our partnerships on the Strategic Initiatives team. The Senior Business Development Associate is someone who is deeply interested in the long-term success of Uber, will hit the ground running driving partnerships, and thrives in a fast-paced technology company.


You will manage select partnerships focused on Driver Loyalty, Safety and other strategic initiatives - some of which will be global in scope and some which will be specific to the U.S. & Canada region. In this role, you will own and drive the success of key partners, identify ways to expand the partnerships over time and deepen partner relationships. You will launch and track the performance of high priority deals to drive revenue growth.


You’ll also work on and negotiate new high priority deals that drive revenue growth. This is a highly cross-functional role, as you will collaborate across internal teams including product, engineering, marketing, operations, finance and policy.

What You’ll Do


  • Manage, track and optimize key partnerships for Driver Loyalty initiatives
  • Develop meaningful relationships with key partners at senior executive levels
  • Envision new ways that strategic partnerships can positively impact the core business applying both creativity and business acumen
  • Lead and negotiate amendments to contracts that grow or enhance existing partnerships with cross-functional input and aligned to business strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Marketing and Legal to bring first-of-a-kind partnerships to life
  • Define, track and report on partner performance metrics
  • Lead and negotiate some new deals end-to-end (from due diligence to contract negotiations and post-deal management) with cross-functional input and aligned to business strategy
  • Collaborate with Operations and Product to bring ‘first of their kind’ partnerships to life
  • Act as an internal partner advocate

What You’ll Need


  • Minimum 4 years of experience in business development, management consulting, investment banking, enterprise sales, or operational roles with significant external partner engagement
  • Proven business development, partner management track record, including negotiating complex deals
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset and strong use of data-driven decision making  
  • Passion for Uber’s mission and ability to thrive in fast-paced, unstructured environment
  • Extremely proactive, self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • MBA is a plus but not required
