We are seeking a Director of Public Relations & Communications with a minimum of 6 years of PR agency or in-house experience working with a variety of consumer brands, especially in the technology, health + wellness, e-commerce and consumer goods categories. Experience working with innovative, fast-growing startups is a plus. This candidate should have extremely strong personal relationships and an impeccable reputation.

What You'll Do

    • Develop and execute creative and strategic PR timelines/OKRs and ensure objectives are achieved with minimal supervision.
    • Lead the development of pitches, press releases, talking points, key messaging, company positioning statements and other collateral.
    • Collaborate with the executive team, PR firm, as well as brand, science, community, CX, partnerships and design by developing an in-house “news room”Help secure a high volume of impactful placements in top tier outlets across print, digital and broadcast media that position Ritual as a leader in the industry and one of the most compelling companies to follow in the world.
    • Consistently secure brand features, executive profiles, and trend stories.
    • Maintain and continuously grow network of powerful turnkey media and influencer relationships.
    • Lead weekly newsroom meetings to continuously hunt for new stories across the company.
    • Communicate PR messaging and positioning to the team.
    • Ideate unique event and activation concepts and execute them.

You’re able to secure stake-in-the-ground pieces we want to frame on our walls as well as lifestyle pieces that make women everywhere believers.
    • Excellent communicator. You will not only need to be a confident speaker and writer, but an excellent listener too. You have a great knack for explaining complex concepts and distilling them down to their most essential messages.
    • Creative storyteller. You have advanced skill in pitch and press release writing, copy development and general excellence in written communications.
    • Strong rolodex. You possess extremely strong first-hand relationships with the top lifestyle, fashion, health+wellness and business media across print, digital, broadcast media, with an outstanding placement portfolio to showcase and a strong understanding of mainstream consumers and media.
    • Self-driven productivity machine. You are self-motivated, highly proactive and demonstrate an ability to work autonomously, taking the lead on projects and anticipating the needs of the team. You’re able to proactively create press worthy moments.
    • Resourceful. You’re adept in creative problem solving, are extremely resourceful and find creative ways to turn no’s into yes’s.
    • Research obsessed. You’re our brand’s sponge, finding and absorbing new stories across channels and working cross-functionally within the company to dig deep to find new angles. You must keep up-to-speed with current affairs and have endless curiosity.
    • Organized. You have strong planning, project management, relationship and organizational skills.
    • Strong instincts & integrity. You’re trustworthy, authentic and are able to use instinct and common sense to always represent the brand in the best possible way and ensure that we are always putting our best foot forward.
    • Team player. You have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic and strong interpersonal skills. You demonstrate the ability to work well with our internal team, external reporters and an agency team as a whole. You’re never afraid to roll up your sleeves. Your enthusiasm for what we do and why we do it manifests in every story you pitch.

What You Need

    • Education: BS/BA, preferably in marketing, advertising, communications or analytical field.
    • Experience: 6-8 years of public relations experience in a fast-paced environment. Communications strategy experience.
    • Strong relationships with influencers and celebritiesIndustry knowledge and knowledge of competitive landscape.
    • Relationships with potential partner brandsExcellent event planning and execution skills.
