About the role
As a General Manager, you will be in one of the most important roles at the company.  The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the fulfillment center. Besides being responsible for the details of the day-to-day operation, the role also drives strategic planning and execution of process improvements, infrastructure and technology.  Grove prioritizes the hiring and development of our members along with our company culture and productivity of the fulfillment center. Grove is a fast-paced, innovative and metric-driven company with a team that is passionate about delighting our customers. Your Responsibilities

    • All operational aspects of the fulfillment center.  From associates to transportation and everything in between – culture, fulfillment, inventory, receiving and training to name a few.
    • Partnering with our People team to recruit, train and develop the entire workforce for the fulfillment center.  
    • Communicate goals in a timely manner to ensure all employees at the fulfillment center understand.  Ensure all associates get timely feedback on performance.
    • Drive operational goals for productivity, safety, quality and costs.  Seek continuous improvement while growing and expanding capabilities within the fulfillment center.
    • Responsible for fulfillment center P&L.
    • Extensive cross collaboration work with all Fulfillment Centers, Merchandising, Technology, Operations Strategy, Finance and People teams.  These are your partners.  We all succeed or fail together as a Grove team.  This means those relationships and expectations are very important.
    • Drive the importance of a customer-first attitude with everyone in the warehouse.
    • Responsible for execution of labor planning.
    • Celebrate successes and acknowledge failures with specific solutions for improvement to the entire warehouse.
    • Ensure compliance to all required operating practices and safety practices.
    • Ensure a safe, clean, and professional fulfillment center.

About You

    • A Bachelor’s or MBA degree in, operations, engineering or related field.
    • A minimum of 10 years of supply chain leadership experience in fulfillment or similar environment.
    • At least 3 years experience as a general manager or similar role in a large fulfillment center(s) of 500+ employees that fulfilled ecommerce orders or equivalent.  
    • You are comfortable with being an active and visible leader that spends time on the floor so you have first-hand knowledge of how things work.
    • You're extremely customer and employee-centric and are comfortable managing through ambiguity as well as conflict in order to balance short-term needs against the bigger picture and vision of where we're headed.
    • Metrics driven mindset combined with customer obsession.
    • Superior communications skills.  Ability to break down complex strategies into easy to understand concepts.  
    • Demonstrable experience in recruiting / coaching teams and operations innovation.
    • Data saavy. Quickly adapt and drive the right results using data - we move quickly and rely on being nimble as our business grows.
    • Strong attention to detail; excellent follow-up routines (you're very organized!)
    • You're extremely customer and employee-centric and are comfortable managing through ambiguity as well as conflict in order to balance short-term needs against the bigger picture and vision of where we're headed.
    • Strong knowledge of analytic tools such as Excel and Looker.
    • Previous experience in a highly mechanized/automated e-commerce operation a big plus.
