About the Role

At Uber, we ignite opportunity by setting the world in motion. We take on big problems to help drivers, riders, delivery partners, and eaters get moving in more than 600 cities around the world.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s move the world forward, together.

We’re changing the way people think about transportation. Not that long ago we were just an app to request premium black cars in a few metropolitan areas. Now we’re a part of the logistical fabric of more than 600 cities around the world. Whether it’s a ride, a sandwich, or a package, we use technology to give people what they want, when they want it.

For the people who drive with Uber, our app represents a flexible new way to earn money. For cities, we help strengthen local economies, improve access to transportation, and make streets safer.

And that’s just what we’re doing today. We’re thinking about the future, too. With teams working on new modalities, self-driving cars and even urban air transportation, we’re in for the long haul. We’re reimagining how people and things move from one place to the next.

What You’ll Do
  • Optimize our administrative infrastructure for quality decisions on pace with the needs of the business. Refine existing planning, aligning, tracking and reporting processes and forums within Uber Metal and across the Core Infra organization.
  • Streamline and standardize the way we measure and report progress against our major programs and KPIs. Drive cadence of assessing and reporting.
  • Plan and execute cross-organizational initiatives - large and small, technical and cultural.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years of increasing responsibility in program management in a fast-paced technology organization.
  • Highly detail-oriented, i.e. she/he owns the details. Grittiness, willingness to roll up sleeves and tackle problems hands-on. This role requires an unusual degree of attention to detail. From the precise specification of a process to getting the wording just right in communications, to articulating a company value, where some might get away with operating at a higher level, this person needs to go all the way down “to the metal” to truly finish things in a way that sticks. This person must crave getting her/his hands dirty, be quick to create a doc or spreadsheet and be obsessive and quick about completing it thoroughly in a high-quality way, and then making sure it’s 100% correct. No job can be too big or too small.
  • Proven track record of implementing processes and improving throughput velocity within a complex org structure. Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence. Experience working with leadership teams and prepping materials for executive level reviews.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiating skills. Ability to move conflicting opinions to business-centered, forward moving agreements and plans. Ability to influence and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive efforts to completion
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and work in highly engineering and product driven environments. Engineers enjoy working closely with you.
  • Analytical and data-driven with a passion for problem solving: Leverage data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.
  • Experienced in managing technical processes; proficient in identifying process gaps, measuring progress, and balancing engineering efficiency with process overhead.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items.
  • Analytical and truth seeking. Ability to understand complex concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively
