The Sr. Accounting Manager will report to the Controller and will lead Qubole’s Accounting function. This hire will have a history of managing and building teams. We’re looking for a process-oriented “doer” and a problem-solver with the highest standard of personal and professional integrity. The right candidate will be a roll-your-sleeves-up, hands-on leader and will thrive in a startup environment.

What you'll be doing

    • Manage the Qubole global Accounting function, oversee both the US and India accounting teams.
    • Supervise the preparation of all account reconciliations including operating and settlement bank accounts, general ledger accounts and customer billing agreements.
    • Assist accounting staff with identifying and resolving any discrepancies through collaboration with other team members.
    • In charge of running the month-end close process including setting expectations with the accounting team on timing, reviewing supporting schedules and providing feedback, perform variance to budget analysis and managing the preparation of the multi-entity financial statements.
    • Strong working / operational knowledge of global consolidation reporting
    • Monitor all corporate bank accounts on a daily basis, ensure outstanding customer receivables are monitored, manage working capital and forecast cash balances.
    • Responsible for corporate and sales tax compliance and working with CPA firm on meeting filing deadlines and determining appropriate tax strategy; collaborating with the tax consultants on annual reporting and license renewals.
    • Partner with the management team to drive accurate financial forecasts.
    • Lead preparation of external reporting and assist in board decks and fundraising efforts
    • Lead special projects for the VP of Finance and Management team as needed.

Required experiences and skills

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar; Big 4 public accounting experience a plus
    • CPA preferred
    • 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager role
    • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP especially as it relates to global consolidationsInternational experience, including experience with overseas operations would be of value.
    • Super analytical and excellent problem solving skills
    • Proven ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines
    • Process improvement guru
    • Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookups, Macros)
    • Experience with NetSuite and Zuora are a plus
    • Start-up experience preferred
