About the Role


We are currently seeking an Embedded Engineer Infrastructure Lead to help design and build our embedded systems in our new generation of electronics. JUMP seeks professionals who are passionate about making cities around the world a better place to live and bike, care about customer experience, and can help us continually improve our product.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop and maintain embedded applications for infrastructure electronics
  • Design, develop and maintain embedded software for manufacturing
  • Interface with hardware design and development and identify systems interactions that must be considered
  • Architect FW, considering HW limitations and server interactions
  • Accurately report & maintain items and progress in Jira
  • Write firmware for both existing electronics and electronics currently in development
  • Communicate daily with remote product development and manufacturing teams

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years in the product development field - strong preference for transportation, consumer electronics, batteries, and industrial products
  • C, C++, Python programming
  • ARM and AVR experience
  • Linux device drivers, kernel internals, cross-compilation
  • Acted as lead engineer for at least one embedded device, ideally multiple
  • Familiarity with product manufacturing
  • Experience with Agile software development processes
  • Strong writing skills
  • The ability to make decisions quickly, communicate effectively, own mistakes while recovering from them gracefully
  • Willingness to pivot to new tasks and navigate quickly shifting priorities
