Solution Architect, Appriss Safety

We’re seeking a driven and innovative solutions architect to join our engineering team and help us generate solutions that grow our Safety division. You will work on a variety of projects within Appriss’ Safety Division and play a key role in ensuring our products meet our customers’ needs.


About You


You are familiar with Amazon products. You have had experience designing software solutions that use AWS managed services. You are familiar with many of the managed services offered and how to best utilize them to control costs while providing a responsive, supportable and scalable platform.


You are skilled communicator. You communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical individuals. You can create written documentation including system diagrams that describe a solution. You communicate new ideas effectively so that all parties understand the benefit, cost, and effort required to implement a new solution. As the Solutions Architect you will be required to work with our Engineering, Client Relations, Product teams and mid to upper Management.


You seek innovative solutions. You have experience seeing problems from different points of view and providing a simple yet elegant solution. You will learn our existing architecture investigate if we can modify our architecture to increase reliability for our customers and scale while controlling costs.


You are a skilled Engineer. Writing code for Appriss products is not your primary function. You will be asked to write code from time to time and be required to gain a basic understanding our existing code base and languages. With an understanding of our code base you will Architect solutions that have minimal impact on the tools we use to create Appriss products. You will have experience in working with an Enterprise Architect team or individual to understand the company direction on Architecture. Having and understanding of the company direction, on Architecture, you will lead efforts to ensure Engineering is compliant with business directives.

Appriss’ Safety division is the national leader in Victim Notification and keeping the public safe and informed. Our goal is to remain a leader in keeping people safe, through innovation and technology. To that end here is what you may do:


* Join a team that is passionate about what they do!

* Suggest changes to our exiting Architecture to:

o Reduce cost

o Integrate new managed services from AWS

o Support a DevOps environment

* Ensure compliance with business strategies and product requirements.

* Be an active member of a project team to innovate our products.

* Provide advice on technologies that would be suitable for products.

* Work with Appriss’ Cloud Services team to understand the business unit’s direction as it relates to AWS

* Mentor, train and educate colleagues as requested.
