 The Profile is responsible for the maintenance of project highway during the operation and maintenance period. All decisions that the Sr. engineer Highway Maintenance has been authorized to make are included in these procedures. Anything that is not covered in these procedures must be authorized by the Route Operations/Project Manager or, if unavailable, a more senior level manager at HO.



  • Plan, schedule, execute and assure quality of all inspections and maintenance during the O&M period.
  • Ensure Lane Availability at all times.
  • Meet the performance standards required by NHAI/IC
  • Vetting of all reports and ensuring the dispatch of the same in time.
  • Ensure safety of the road user and meeting all safety requirements.
  • Ensure payment to contractors in time Guide and monitor the functioning of the Maintenance executives.
  • The O&M Manager will be reporting to the Project Manager and will also interact with the Independent Consultant for routine requirements of O&M.
  • Preparation of Corridor control in consultation with local administrative authorities and the Independent Consultant and ensure the compliance of it.
  • Prohibit Encroachments and assist the authorities responsible for removal, if necessary
  • Ensure Traffic Management and safety during Accident and FM events
  • Ensure Traffic Management and safety at Maintenance Area
  • Verifying record of all accidents.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports (monthly/quarterly/yearly) to IC/NHAI upon approval of Project Manager.
  • Organize periodic review meetings with all contractors and pursue the decision taken. Highway Supervisors
  • Perform the routine / periodic inspections and identify the maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare inspection forms (daily/weekly/monthly) and inspecting the project facilities along with O&M Contractors. Issue the inspection forms / check lists for rectification to contractors.
  • Ensure Lane Availability
  • Meet the performance standards required by NHAI/IC
  • Responsible to maintain the Carriageway Pavement and Road Marking, Signage’s/ Road amenities/ fixtures and Safety Barrier, Vegetation / Landscape and Turfing / slope protection, Drainage along and across the Project Highway, Inspection of all drainage structures / bridges and retaining walls, Grade separator structures, Toll Plaza / Other buildings of the Project Truck Lay Bay and Bus shelters / Other Project Facilities
  • Being a member of the ERP team as per the scheduled deployment defined by the Project Manager from time to time.
  • Responsible for all design, specifications for material, works and equipment’s to be used in the maintenance works
  • Responsible for site investigation, inspection, testing, site evaluation
  • Coordinate all Quality Assurance and testing procedures
  • Coordinate periodic and major work programme and its implementation
  • Plan, budget and monitor all periodic and major maintenance works
  • Responsible for patrolling the highway in shift basis.

Education: Graduate in Civil, Mechanical or Industrial engineering. Preferably Masters in any related discipline.

Years of Experience: 7+ Years of experience managing maintenance in the construction, infrastructure development or Utilities management

Other Required Skills:

  • Ability to supervise a variety of personnel actions and direct a work force to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean and orderly manner
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and operations
  • Have some knowledge of techniques and crafts involved in preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and construction, open to new ideas and adaptable to changing technology

Working Hours: Administrative hours + On-Call Duty
