Position Overview
The Exabeam customer community is charged with helping customers learn about our product and how to make the best use of it possible. It includes technical knowledge base articles, video training, online discussions, live and archived webinars and more.
You will improve this community by helping create articles (written by you or others). This position reports to the Director, Customer Community and is located in our San Mateo office and is a stepping stone to a career as a tech writer, community manager or digital media producer.


    • Assist the team in configuring and editing websites. Take content from one system and get it into another, either by copy-paste, import or basic formatting Clean up this content to get it into a consistent format. This may involve basic HTML or word processing-like skills
    • Create summaries of articles that capture enough so people browsing summaries will have a sense of it
    • Copy pictures, capture screenshots and use basic photo manipulation skills like cropping, resizing, outputting to different format
    • Research and write technical articles by interacting with tech support people, engineer and product managers
    • Make a similar change to a large set of articles while tracking which have been done and which remain to complete
    • Assist in documenting work processes
    • Perform quality assurance system testing
    • Basic video editing such as trimming clips, titling and converting it into various formats
    • Some marketing research, administrative tasks
    • Other duties as assigned


    • High School equivalency required; an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree is preferred
    • Past experience (can be volunteer/student) in web publishing
    • Strong communications, writing and organizational skills; this includes proficiency in grammar
    • Ability to meet deadlines
    • Ability to stay focused in chaotic environment without constant supervision
    • Attention to detail and dedication to quality
    • Flexibility to undertake constructive criticism to improve copy output


    • Background in Computer Science, either through education or experience
    • Prior constructive presence / activities online
    • Prior video/audio editing experience
