About the Role


LendingClub Database Operations team is looking for a early career MSSQL DBA who in partnership with Sr team members will influence the design and architecture of a scalable Enterprise MSSQL database. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter who is excited about learning new technologies, possesses a great work ethic and a hands-on “get things done” attitude. Troubleshooting and analytical problem solving is in this individual's DNA, with ability to see the big picture while still able to dive deep to solve complex problems.



What You'll Do


  • Performs database administration functions for MSSQL database systems
  • Participate in the architecture of new database designs
  • Manage production and development MSSQL database clusters
  • Automate database deployments, upgrades, and monitoring
  • Database migrations
  • Assists application developers with tuning SQL in applications
  • Implements MSSQL High Availability (HA) e.g. log shipping, database mirroring and replication features
  • Creates, loads, and refreshes databases for testing
  • Knowledge of SQL Profile, Disaster Recovery solutions highly desired
  • Participate in on-call rotation for database support




About You


  • 2+ years of experience engineering, administering and managing relational databases (MSSQL)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related IT field preferred
  • Experience in MSSQL replication, log shipping technologies desired
  • Experience in logical and physical data modeling
  • Experience in designing indexes, SQL queries, and resultant explanation of access paths for optimizing the SQL
  • Experience and success in automating administrative tasks using PowerShell
  • Solid understanding of hardware performance, memory and I/O
  • Experience with installation and maintenance of database software
  • Experience in Windows operating systems
  • Solid scripting/coding experience with any of the following: PowerShell and Python
