About the Role

Uber is looking for data-driven strategic thinkers to join the US & Canada Strategy & Planning team. The Strategy & Planning team is a nimble and highly impactful team that helps set the business strategy and provides critical guidance, insights and strategic frameworks to the C-suite and senior leaders responsible for the US & Canada business.


Senior Associates on the Strategy & Planning team are responsible for digging into data, uncovering insights then developing and socializing strategic frameworks to solve challenging problems across the organization. They balance “done” and “perfect”, and possess a blend of analytical capabilities, strategic thinking and emotional intelligence. If you love finding truth and insight into tough, unstructured problems and working with senior leaders in the organization to bring those insights into meaningful change, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Set Our Strategy: Work closely with and advise business leaders across the company on topics ranging from specific analyses and experiments to annual strategic planning to multi-year visions. Examples include: Reviewing our pricing strategy on UberPOOL, defining and valuing customer segments to determine which ones we should prioritize
  • Manage Projects and Programs: Be the glue that brings teams together to ensure key strategic initiatives reach our customers. Be a hustling multi-tasker, driving cross-functional groups to decisions on strategically important questions.
  • Find Facts and Uncover Insights: Leverage our rich dataset to help improve our collective understanding of what our customers love and hate about Uber. Uncover opportunities for efficiency and growth from algorithmic tweaks to tectonic shifts in strategy.
  • Build Relationships: Interface with other functional areas (Finance, Product, Marketing, Public Affairs, Legal, Engineering, People Operations, etc.) to ensure we are bringing all available tools to bear on our toughest problems.


What You’ll Need

  • 4+ years experience of investment banking / consulting / business intelligence / strategy or related experience; some high-growth operations or startup experience is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills.
  • Strong, demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Exceptional Excel and SQL skills (R or Stata a plus!)
  • Self-motivated, works independently and possesses strong organization and time management skills
  • Bachelor's degree required
