Manager, Art Merchandising

Minted is seeking an analytical, strategic thinker with a strong eye for Art and design to own merchandising for Minted’s Art business. This individual will be responsible for driving sales for the Art business, and will project manage the end-to-end Art merchandising process for both our online business and growing wholesale channel. The ideal candidate has an intuitive understanding of not only what will sell, but also what constitutes truly differentiated and high-quality work. This person has a deep love for art and artists and experience in following and recognizing artists and art trends. This position requires excellent project management skills, exceptional communications skills, a high degree of detail orientation, and an ability to both think strategically as well as roll-sleeves-up to get things done quickly and with limited resources. Reporting to the GM, Art, this is a collaborative, cross-functional category management role.

You will:

    • Drive revenue for the Art business, working cross-functionally to achieve sales and user experience.
    • Project manage the art launch process, beginning with the art business strategy, all the way through to the art challenge, assorting process, and onsite launch.
    • Partner with the GM, Art, to lead year-round merchandising planning for the Art business for our online and wholesale assortments. This includes competitive trend analysis, sales reporting and key metrics.
    • Partner with the Creative Director, Art to plan art challenge concepts and propose assortments that will help build and shape the Minted assortment.
    • Partner with the GM, Art, Senior Director, Merchandising & Crowdsourcing to optimize our Art assortment by informing merchandising decisions using data and analysis drawn from Minted’s unique crowd curation model. Ensure Minted’s art assortment positively represents both the “wisdom of the crowd” and the high design bar of the brand.
    • Partner will Business Development to manage assortments for our retail partners, and grow and develop the art assortment for our growing wholesale channel.
    • Partner with Supply Chain and New Product Development to source and develop new Art products and form factors, and explore ways to improve current quality.
    • Consistently analyze customer feedback and partner with key functions to improve product quality and assortment based on findings.
    • Own the performance of each category of product, as well as conversion and SKU-level productivity of merchandise. Develop category sales forecasts and strategies to inform assortment and pricing decisions.
    • Partner with the Artist Relations team on recruitment and retention of artists in the category.
    • Contribute to art strategy including annual merchandise roadmap for art categories.
    • Manage the online merchandising of art categories including filters, SKU organization, and 'shoppability' of the assortment.
    • Ensure all functional areas within company stay educated about the consumer and the products in the categories

You have:

    • 4-6 years of business experience, with ideally some experience in or exposure to retail, E-Commerce, or consumer products businesses.
    • Background in Art (major in art history/studio art, experience working for galleries/museums, etc) and an understanding of artists and what is important to them.
    • Outstanding Excel skills, and experience in Google Sheets, Docs, & Presentations.
    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • MBA a plus.
