Director, Product Management Operations at Minted

Minted is looking for a Director, Product Management Operations that will report to and partner closely with the VP, Product Management and senior business stakeholders across the company to drive definition of Minted’s product roadmap and engineering investment strategies.
 
The successful candidate will bring stellar business operations experience combined with strong consumer and product instincts to become a hands-on driver of roadmap execution while helping build a high-performing Product Management and User Experience team with effective and scalable processes.  
 
This person will be a senior leader in the Product Management organization with frequent exposure to CEO and senior management, driving transformational change in how the Product and UX teams support stakeholders in every department of the company and partner with Engineering to deliver on Minted’s product roadmap and technology initiatives.

You will:

    • Partner closely with CEO, President, GM’s, SVP, Ecommerce and VP’s of PM and Eng to help develop annual high-level annual product roadmap and detailed quarterly roadmaps.
    • Develop and use balanced scorecard and prioritization frameworks to help evaluate, compare and rank engineering investment opportunities.
    • Partner with PM and Eng in consolidation of and impact modeling for all core platform, function specific (i.e. marketing, ops), and infrastructure opportunities and initiatives.
    • Create and manage all processes that drive and govern successful product roadmap execution.
    • Partner with Eng leadership to define detailed resource allocation plan across all roadmap workstreams and teams.
    • Partner with PM and Eng teams to proactively manage scope / resourcing for prioritized projects to achieve business results while ensuring timeliness of delivery.
    • Develop roadmap tracking and communication tools that provide visibility for the entire business into roadmap status, risks, and individual project budget and ROI.
    • Ensure centralized resourcing documentation is maintained and accurate to provide visibility into who is working on what and enable effective and efficient executive decision-making.
    • Drive strategic lookbacks (comparing actual vs. expected on ROI, results delivered, engineering estimates, investment allocation) as part our QBR process in order to assess effectiveness of roadmap planning and opportunities for improvement.
    • Rally the company around conversion, creating clearer measurements and weekly reporting that provide visibility to the entire company and guide PM owners (Dir, eCommerce & category PM’s) in pursuit of their conversion goals.
    • Direct category PM’s in their analysis and ownership of category-specific conversion goals.
    • Develop and implement PM day-to-day operational best practices and processes that span requirements and feature documentation, management of project artifacts and decision tracking, and reporting and tracking of project results.
    • Execute industry benchmarking to inform development of best practices suitable for a company and team of our size and product development approach.
    • Develop a central project results dashboard accessible to entire company with a governance process that ensures all new projects are automatically incorporated.
    • Support VP, PM and other PM and UX hiring managers in building a top-notch team assisting with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring.
    • Identify and drive projects that will increase the overall efficiency and quality of Minted’s product development organization.

You have:

    • Bachelor’s degree, MBA strongly preferred.
    • 5-7 years business operations experience in a direct-to-consumer company (preferably for a retail, fashion, or lifestyle brand).
    • 2-3 years experience in consulting, strategy analysis and development.
    • Experience in product management or in a role partnering with engineering.
    • Superb analytical and financial modeling skills and ability to effectively use data to investigate and solve problems and make decisions.
    • Strong project management skills and ability to plan, set expectations, make and meet commitments.
    • A ‘fast-twitch’ response and ability to pivot quickly when needed, thriving in a rapid-pace environment.
