Position Overview
As a design manager, you will lead a team of product and visual designers. You will collaborate with the design, product, and engineering teams to ensure we keep the human (the SOC Team) at the center of our experiences. You will be part of the team that drives the design for systematic and innovative product features. You will report to the Head of the Product.
 
Our Team 
 
The design team is made up of product and visual designers who work hand in hand with their peers in product management and engineering to build Exabeam products. Our team members combine great visual sense with a deep understanding of the subtle nuance that makes a complex product feel simple and intuitive. 

Responsibilities

    • A great eye for detail, demonstrate creative and innovative problem solving and possess excellent leadership abilities
    • Work closely with the Design and Product Teams to drive the creation and refinement of product designs
    • Coordinate with Design Team members to help define scope, schedule design tasks and meet milestone demands
    • Ability to clearly communicate concepts and designs through sketches, wireframes, high fidelity comps, and prototypes
    • Enthusiasm and history working in an iterative design process, motivated by group critique
    • Experience in designing from start to finish including the development process
    • Manage, lead and mentor other Design Researchers in their projects
    • Facilitate and lead conversations with customers and other experts internally within the organization
    • Provide guidance to product managers and designers on their research initiatives, i.e. usability studies, A/B testing and feature-focused customer interviews
    • Conduct individual research (exploratory, generative, and evaluative)
    • Review and improve the designs from the design team
    • Highly skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Keynote and other design tools

Requirements

    • You've been working as a product designer with a range of experience in research, UX, interaction and visual design for 7+ years, with 2+ years managing teams
    • You are a natural collaborator and an excellent communicator, able to develop and present design ideas in a large team environment
    • You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Product, Sales Engineering and Support teams
    • Prior experience working within a technical environment is a key requirement
    • While exercising a good eye for aesthetics, you are able to grasp and distill highly complex issues and translate them into clean, focused, understandable solutions
    • You should possess extraordinary visual and user interface design skills, as well as user-centered design principals. You have an affinity for consistency, color use, typography, and a keen eye for subtle details
    • Strong communication skills and ability to stay highly organized is critical. Interest in new technologies in web, mobile, and other devices is required
    • You should be a self-starter, self-motivated, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision
