About the Role


You will play a crucial part in the product development and prototyping process for Uber’s Advanced Technology Group supporting the Autonomous Vehicle program. As a Lidar Engineering Technician you will work with Engineers to build and develop prototypes and parts, as well as assisting with thorough testing of those platforms. This role will regularly work cross functionally with other teams, so strong communication is key.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform complex and advanced assembly of products according to established specifications and instructions.
  • Perform high precision calibration and advanced adjustments using testing instruments.
  • Ensure all log books are maintained according to standard operating procedures.
  • Perform equipment assembly according to engineering drawings.
  • Conduct product testing and performance testing and record the results.
  • Perform final checks and adjustments for any defects to ensure high quality products.
  • Proficient at soldering
  • Familiar with measuring instruments like current and voltage meters
  • Experience with high and low voltage (AC and DC)
  • Passionate about organizing and labeling cables
  • Hands on skills in wire termination of all types (crimp, solder, push pin, screw)


What You’ll Need

  • "Experience reading wiring diagrams and assembling wiring harness and building connectors"
  • "Experience running automated measurement and test systems"Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical drawings and schematics
  • Knowledgeable of modern automotive electronics and diagnostic procedures
  • Capable of working independently to quickly overcome challenges without supervision
  • Skilled in isolating, documenting, and tracking issues systematically
  • Ability to build and debug complex wiring harnesses, electrical enclosures, and design panel layouts
  • Proficient in communicating with other technicians, software engineers, and executives
  • Robotics experience preferred
