Senior Brand Marketing Manager at Udemy

The Senior Brand Marketing Manager will oversee Udemy’s global brand marketing strategy. S/he will be responsible for growing awareness, familiarity, and perception of the Udemy brand- from both a macro and a micro perspective. S/he takes a creative and actionable approach to articulating Udemy’s brand story, purpose, and vision - whether it’s through a large scale TV ad or a tagline on an affiliate banner ad. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for working with paid channels on non-branded ads to make sure they fit within brand guidelines. By applying deep knowledge of the business and marketing, this person inspires a cross-functional team of stakeholders to create content and experiences that elevate the Udemy brand in relevant ways through paid, earned, and owned media.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

    • Defining the strategy and roadmap for building Udemy brand awareness on a local and global level
    • Helping lead the development and launch of a brand refresh, including competitor and market research, revisiting mission/vision/value, brand prop, etc.
    • Supporting CRM, marketing strategy, and channel leads in developing design and messaging frameworks based on customer segmentation
    • Working with country general managers to support local marketing efforts to ensure the local plan aligns to the global strategy and represents the Udemy brand consistently
    • Developing guidelines, alongside channel leads, for effective marketing ads on affiliate networks, Google AdWords, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and Instagram 
    • Reviewing and approving all non-brand creative for all paid marketing channels
    • Developing above the line brand advertising initiatives, in collaboration with the Integrated Marketing team, from proof of value - to execution - to assessment
    • Supervising multiple external agencies in developing creative advertising, high-impact promotions
    • Striking a balance in ensuring all branding and key information strategies are in line with overall business strategy without compromising the brand’s integrity
    • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to translate campaign performance into reports including, marketing briefs, competitive analyses, campaign recap decks

We’re excited about you because you have:

    • 6+ years of experience in brand marketing, communications, or integrated marketing
    • Experience setting strategic direction and supporting go-to-market strategy that requires input from multiple teams
    • Able to draw insights from data and demonstrate a brand’s contribution to business results
    • A good balance of creative, strategic and operational thinking
    • Proven ability to identify key issues, facilitate resolutions, and communicate decisions to management in a dynamic environment
    • Solid analytical skills
    • Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills
    • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
    • Able to jump between strategy and hands-on execution seamlessly
    • Exceptional leadership and influencing skills with proven ability to get things done
