The Director of Merchandising owns all aspects of assortment planning, buying and driving sales of our entire portfolio of brands, ensuring we are maximizing efforts on our site and through our various marketing channels.

The Opportunity

    • This role is responsible for developing strategic initiatives and leading the Site Merchandising and Buying teams at Grove Collaborative
    • You will work hand-in-hand with all cross departmental teams including but not limited to our marketing, growth, community happiness, operations, inventory management, and product management teams
    • To be successful, you will need to be acutely aware of our product assortment, growth strategies and marketing vehicles, and the engineering tools that are needed to take our site experience to the next level
    • A keen eye on trends in the marketplace and how to create product and marketing opportunities that generate a strong response from our customers is a must
    • This role will be evaluated based on the ability to build compelling merchandising and marketing opportunities for our products, getting our brand partners to financially participate in these opportunities and the financial performance of the merchandising and marketing campaigns. 
    • You will also need to work with external brand partners to curate opportunities and to create a strategic marketing calendar that leverages these opportunities across national and owned brand partners

About you

    • 7+ years working in a retail/e-commerce environment where you have been responsible for building assortments and driving revenue in a strictly e-commerce environment 
    • You live and breathe household and personal care products and you are aware of what is trending at any given moment 
    • Directly responsible for online marketing campaigns; building them from the ground up, creating content and measuring the success of programs across a variety of metrics 
    • You are an owner. You love to bring projects from inception to completion. While you work closely with your partners you are able to get your hands dirty and see a project at the strategic and detailed level, simultaneously. 
    • You're truly passionate about natural product and understand how to translate that passion to your customers 
    • Very comfortable collaborating closely with team members at all levels and being accountable for high-priority projects  
    • You love over-delivering, and doing more than previously thought possible  
    • You love to work hard, learn fast, and make an impact right away
