Act-On Software is seeking a positive, proactive, and experienced SAFe Practitioner to fill the role of Program Manager, Technology and Product. Reporting to the [Chief Technology Officer], the Program Manager will act as the Release Train Engineer (RTE) for 6-8 SAFe Agile teams, “The Program.”

The RTE’s major responsibilities are to facilitate program events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. The RTE will communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement


  • Manage the Program Kanban and ensure consistent accuracy in work status
  • Establish and communicate annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments
  • Facilitate program events - weekly Scrum of Scrums & PO Sync (and other sync meetings as necessary)
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindset
  • Help manage risks and inter-team dependencies
  • Escalate and track impediments
  • Assist tracking the execution of deliverables
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Encourage collaboration between teams
  • Facilitate Iteration Demos and PI System Demos
  • Drive relentless improvement via the Inspect & Adapt Workshops
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness
  • Facilitate the quarterly Technology & Product PI Planning events
  • Work with other organization leadership on program execution and assist with operational excellence initiatives

The Perfect Candidate Would Have

  • 1+ year of experience as a Release Train Engineer in a SAFe Enterprise -OR- 3+ years as a Scrum Master in a SAFe Enterprise
  • One or more of the following certifications: SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM).
  • Experience working with SAFe in a software development organization
  • Experience working to foster collaborative teams / programs
  • Experience helping resolve inter- and intra- team conflicts
  • Experience facilitating large meetings and workshops
  • Experience planning and facilitating large planning events
  • Experience with Jira, or other issue tracking software
  • Experience with Confluence, or other internal wiki systems
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities and workflows
