We’re looking for an experienced, tenacious, entrepreneurial marketer to help drive market development and build Udemy as the preferred and dominant destination for online learning in India. This person will partner with our Central Marketing team in San Francisco, and report directly to the India Country Manager. This role will be based in Gurgaon, India.

Responsibilities

    • Define a strategy for market development for both students and instructors, to achieve sustainable, rapid growth in a fast paced and highly competitive market
    • Define the brand positioning and target audience for Udemy in India, through structured research
    • Accordingly devise the marketing program and marketing mix for India, with the right blend of ROI-driving and brand-enhancing initiatives, across both online and offline channels
    • Develop and execute offline marketing initiatives (Creative, Media Buys) and calendar, aligned with the devised strategy
    • Coordinate marketing activities for India (Paid Digital, Social, PR, Customer Lifecycle Management), in coordination with other key internal marketing stakeholders
    • Manage local partnerships and relationships, including managing local agencies (marketing, research et al)
    • Manage ongoing KPI performance to ensure strong ROI of investments in India
    • Work closely with different teams across Marketing, Operations, Product and Engineering to generate product and channel insights, representing the interests of Indian students and instructors to create best-in-class customer experience
    • Present findings and insights clearly and concisely to senior management when necessary
    • Develop strong working relationships with Udemy’s global teams in Brazil, Ireland, Turkey and the US, and leverage those strong cross-functional partners to help India grow

Qualifications

    • 5-10 years of proven brand building and marketing experience, preferably in a B2C environment, delivering demonstrable growth; online experience is necessary
    • Deep user insights on Indian market and consumers
    • Versatile skill set within Marketing, including but not limited to Brand, Media, Content, PR and Social
    • Exceptional communication skills, and capable of building strong collaboration with internal cross-functional stakeholders as well as external partners
    • Able to balance data-driven decision-making and communications with a strong empathy for the  customer and instinct for the market
    • Strong understanding of marketing ROI measurement, leveraging industry best techniques and practices
    • Strong problem solving and project management skills. Ability to lead complex projects cross-functionally
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, distributed and matrixed team environment
    • Creative, resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organized
    • A passion for online learning, and a desire to create opportunities that will change lives through teaching and learning in India
