Senior Manager, Accounting at Uber

About the Role

The Senior Manager will support Uber's global accounting operations organization to ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting. You need to superb attentiveness to details, strong accounting operations experience and great collaboration skills to work with business partners.

What You'll Do

  • Manage month-end close for various General Ledger functions; including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis of results, and close reporting packages.
  • Lead accounting transformation projects including redesign of the cash close process to increase efficiency and accuracy and build a world-class public company close process.
  • Partner with the Financial Risk Management team to implement and maintain automated and manual controls to ensure financials completeness and accuracy.
  • Manage outsourced operational activities, including service level agreements, and find opportunities to outsource activities or processes to our third party service provider.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Fintech, Internal Audit, FP&A, and other business partners) to generate, record, reconcile, and maintain accurate cash balances.
  • Coordinate with regional compliance teams on statutory reporting and IFRS related matters.
  • Support external and internal audit requirements.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects with other directors and assistant controller

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA/CA or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience and expertise in public accounting and a high tech organization managing large scale cash operations and accounting in multi-currencies and entities.
  • Experienced with complex intercompany and FX transactions.
  • Ability to manage and develop a world-class team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting policies/procedures and financial statements.
  • Strong organization skills with an ability to plan and perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires the in-depth evaluation of numerous factors.
  • Experience with Oracle R12 or another large scale ERP is preferred.
  • International accounting experience is a plus.

Bonus points if you have

  • Payment Service Provider (PSP) reconciliation experience
  • Intercompany transactions experience
  • International banking / FX knowledge
