UX Content Strategy Manager at Udemy

Udemy’s design team guides our global marketplace and learning products from concept through shipping – making sure our experiences are intuitive, accessible, and delightful. You will work side-by-side with designers, researchers, product managers, and business stakeholders to collaboratively build world-class product experiences across all screens and devices for our diverse, global community.
As a founding member of Udemy’s Content Strategy team, you’ll be empowered to build key partnerships across our product team and establish best practices for using written content to enhance our product experience. Through hands-on work, you will ensure our products are clear, concise, and supportive to our global students, instructors, and business partners. You will also hire and manage one to two additional UX writers or strategists at the heart of ensuring the voice of our product achieves those same goals. You will work regularly with other writers at Udemy to infuse our products with Udemy’s brand and ensure close alignment with Product Marketing, building and maintaining a cohesive voice throughout the Udemy experience.

At Udemy, you will…

    • Work closely with the product team to develop user-focused positioning and narratives throughout the product development process
    • Hire and mentor 1-2 awesome content strategists for your team
    • Write clear and concise content across multiple touch points (such as product names, navigational elements, micro-copy, emails, and notifications)
    • Help apply and maintain consistent voice and tone throughout Udemy’s products
    • Ensure voice and content consistency with marketing, brand, content marketing, and customer support
    • Identify opportunities for impactful A/B copy tests and participate in user interviews
    • Be a crucial part of cross-functional teams with designers, user researchers, engineers, product managers, and marketing team members
    • Develop content frameworks and best practices to help support designers and product managers in creating effective written content for their projects

We’re excited about you because you have...

    • 5+ years of writing experience - ideally including global audiences
    • 1+ years management or leadership experience
    • Experience as a content strategist or UX writer - ideally at a consumer tech company
    • A proven ability to work successfully with product design, brand, and product management partners
    • A portfolio showcasing excellent writing and editing skills
    • An ability to partner with multiple teams on multiple projects simultaneously
    • Eagerness to join a UX team that is excited to change lives around the world through learning!
