The Picking Supervisor responsibilities are to plan, organize and lead all picking activities in a high volume e-commerce fulfillment environment. The Picking Supervisor is responsible for ensuring his/her team meets and maintains productivity, accuracy, and safety standards for all order processing, picking and problem resolution personnel.
Our Weekend shift is on Friday/Saturday/Sunday. The shift starts at 6:00am, and goes until 6:30pm. Supervisors on this shift are expected to arrive no later than 30 minutes before shift start to prep for the shift. Supervisors may need to be flexible with Thursday hours in order to get a handoff and prepped going into the weekend shift.

Your Responsibilities

    • Train, monitor, motivate and coach picking team, order processors and problem resolution team, to include both a full-time and temporary workforce
    • Create a staffing plan to ensure processing goals are met during peak seasons and that labor efficiency goals are met
    • Manage order processing and picking for a busy shipping department to include overseeing all picking processes and picking areas, ensuring quality standards are met and that orders are shipped within the appropriate timelines
    • Troubleshoot picking errors and implement retraining processes as needed to ensure efficient and accurate picking to support the outbound team
    • Ensure that staff is well trained in best practices for picking and using outbound equipmentEnsure proper procedures are maintained for controlling hand held scanners to include the sign-out process and maintenance checks
    • Monitor daily productivity performance for picking crew, ensuring best practice procedures are being observed to ensure a safe work environment
    • Work to consistently improve processes and practices to ensure “best practice” in procedures, equipment utilization, efficiency, cost reduction and employee satisfaction
    • Ensure all warehouse equipment is properly maintained, that additional equipment is procured in a timely manner and that shipping area is compliant with asset protection protocols
    • Ensure reasonable housekeeping measures are maintained in order to ensure a well- organized and safe workplace
    • Create employee development plans to establish a growth path for high achieving inbound associates
    • Maintain excellent communication within the packing/shipping group through effective pre-shift meetings and one-on-one communications
    • Partner with Leadership team to ensure overall operations are running smoothly
    • All other job duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

    • 7 or more years experience as a Warehouse or Picking Supervisor in an e-commerce fulfillment environment
    • High school diploma or GED with college coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
    • Experience with WMS systems and the ability to learn proprietary software, proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Ability to develop procedures, training documents and safety/compliance manualsCertifications in LEAN, Six Sigma, ISO 9001, etc. preferred
    • Experience using and maintaining warehouse equipment – to include forklifts, reach trucks, powered conveyors, pallet jacks and scanning devices
    • Demonstrated ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times and to communicate effectively, resolve workplace conflicts before they escalate, maintain appropriate confidentiality and to promote a positive and productive work environment
    • Strong leadership skills in fostering a culture of integrity, inclusiveness, teamwork and leading by example, providing clear and constructive feedback and coaching
    • Strong sense of urgency, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, commitment to achieving results
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency to read, write, speak and understand English
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a proactive and self-motivated approach
    • A track record of driving process improvements, questioning the status quo, recommending best practices and effective problem solving
    • Flexibility in work schedules to accommodate the needs of the business including nights, weekends and holidays
    • Ability to independently lift up to 60 lbs
