As a key member of Leanplum’s Finance team, the Director of FP&A will lead the organization’s annual planning, budgeting, monthly/quarterly reporting, and long-range forecasting. He or she will also partner with executive leaders and stakeholders to provide analytical/business case support, derive data-driven insights, and influence leaders to make value added decisions. The ideal candidate is an impactful difference maker who interacts seamlessly with individuals at all levels of the organization while also serving as a strong leader within the Finance team.   


    • Lead the annual budgeting process including creating the timeline and key deliverables, partnering with function leaders across the business to roll up and rationalize budget requests, consolidating department budgets, driving budget prioritization discussions, communicating final budgets to functional owners, and creating budget update forecasts
    • Drive reporting of actual monthly results to budget targets by the department including providing BvA explanations and partnering with functional budget owners to take corrective action on budget overage or risks
    • Provide the analytical and business case support for the company’s strategic planning efforts, sales, partnerships, and key Executive Team decisions
    • Support the creation of Executive/Board and other stakeholders (investors, lenders, etc.) presentations and (or) reports
    • Own the company’s long-range financial forecast model
    • Build and maintain strong, cross-functional relationships with senior leadership across the business and be the go-to person for analytical/business case support for each functional team
    • Identify key financial trends and proactively offer solutions to mitigate negative trends or accelerate positive ones
    • Assesses ongoing FP&A processes and tools and recommends and implements automation and improvement initiatives
    • Build and manage a high-performing team by setting goals / OKRs and helping people succeed in each of their respective roles and in their broader career
    • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s markets, customers, and products for incorporation into budget and forecast processes and Corporate Development opportunities.
    • Perform ad hoc research, analysis, and reporting as required.


    • 8+ years of FP&A experience, preferably in a high-growth SaaS company
    • MBA In Finance or Bachelor’s in finance/ Economics with advanced training in Excel and analytics. (able to write formulas in Excel is required).
    • Demonstrated knowledge of financial/accounting principles·       
    • Extensive experience partnering with and influencing senior executives across multiple functions (sales, marketing, R&D, products, etc.)·       
    • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-centric culture·       
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate successfully with individuals at all levels of the organization including building and presenting recommendations to executives·       
    • Strong analytical (and problem-solving skills and the ability to distill complex issues into simple, structured frameworks that can be clearly communicated to key leaders and stakeholders inside and outside of the company·       
    • Must have expertise in business analytics and tools including advanced Excel skills, ERP systems, and planning systems such as Adaptive Insights, Adaptive Planning, Netsuite and SQL skills. ·       
    • Strong financial modeling experiences and must have ability to deep dive and interpret complex data  ·       
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously changing, environment·       
    • Prior leadership and people management experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop team membersJob
