Director of Treasury at Udemy

Udemy is looking for a Director of Treasury Operations to join our Finance team and support all aspects of treasury operations and cash management. In this key position, you will establish and maintain relationships with our existing and future banking partners around the globe, and lay the foundation for our expansion with respect to our treasury infrastructure. You will partner with cross-
functional teams including Accounting, FP&A, Internal Systems and Product, by serving as the subject matter expert on treasury-related topics. Other responsibilities range from designing and preparing Treasury related reporting (including weekly cash position dashboards, fee analysis and foreign exchange exposure) to selecting payment processors globally for product development and expansion needs. This is a dynamic role with potential for big impact!
About You:
You are a subject matter expert on treasury-related topics including transaction processing, foreign currencies, FX settlements, SEPA compliance for EMEA, merchant payment processors, effective banking structures, current related technologies and regulatory requirements. You have experience setting up bank accounts globally and managing banking partner relationships. You love rolling up your sleeves and diving into all activities associated with treasury operations. You possess a strong collaborative approach and are able to build effective relationships with accounting and cross-functional team members to effectively execute against our treasury and business roadmap. You enjoy formulating and project managing a roadmap aligned with our banking strategy and objectives. You have strong organizational and communication skills and are able to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities in both written and verbal form to individuals and management. You balance your focus on innovation and process improvement with the ability to achieve measurable results. You take initiative and are able to work in a dynamic environment across all levels of management and across functions and geographies. You are confident, energetic, demonstrate good judgment and are able to influence outcomes globally. It is also critical that you have the proven ability to identify operational deficiencies, implement processes to address the deficiencies, and establish controls around the new or existing processes.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

    • Complete implementation of global banking infrastructure
    • Maintain banking relationships and oversee our global banking structure, including monitoring existing bank accounts, opening up new accounts, migrating accounts and actively closing unnecessary accounts
    • Design, implement and improve our treasury operations processes, taking into consideration best practices and business needs
    • Drive the implementation and improvement of internal controls related to treasury and cash management
    • Oversee administration of our bank accounts across all entities, including managing user profiles, granting and terminating accesses, liaising between A/P, A/R
    • Payroll and the bank service providers, as well as helping address bank inquiry/requests
    • Drive the implementation of banking services and products in new markets and countries
    • Set up and manage payment processor relationships
    • Analyze bank fees and credit card charges to ensure optimal pricing and banking products.
    • Manage cash balances by account and by geography to protect against FX and ensure timely intercompany balance settlement
    • Complete implementation of a new corporate card program to meet business needs

We’re excited about you because you have:

    • BA/BS degree in Business, Accounting or Economics; MBA or CTP is a plus.
    • 10 years of domestic and international treasury experience at global (preferably public) companies and working knowledge of foreign exchange risk management.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are a must, along with a high level of attention to detail.
    • A self-starter who is able to work independently and interact with all relevant internal and external business partners as needed.
    • Ability to dive into detail, while also driving towards the big picture vision
    • Proven ability to articulate significant change and improvement into an operational environment
    • Proven experience in global organizations
    • Excellent project management skills required
