Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced professional to fill the role of the Payment Transformation Lead Data Engineer, working within Health Catalyst’s Product Development organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Lead Data Engineer will be the lead architect for the improvement & maintenance of our Claims data model & will be point for ensuring that we make significant progress in in both enabling content enhancement and making our claims models performant. This position will manage 1-2 other data engineers who will support these goals.

Provide technical expertise in design, build and launch of improved data models and pipelines.

Drive the technical and engineering approaches for various initiatives around the claims data platform demonstrating strong knowledge of modern data architecture.

Manage, prioritize, delegate &/or execute request backlog in timely fashion.

Be part of the Payment Transformation leadership team, collaborate effectively with Dev, Implementation & other leaders.

Key Skills

Expert level MS-SQL

Deep understanding of claims data (medical, Rx, enrollment/eligibility) & maximizing the potential value from varying data sets

Expertise in value-based care concepts and structuring claims data to support

Expert level experience in data architecture and infrastructure, dimensional data modeling, SSAS, Tabular, Cubes within a data engineering domain

Expert design and implementation level experience, including implementing data models (logical and physical), data warehouse design and data engineering best practices

Project management skills and experience with Agile Project Management methodology

Ability to learn new technologies and evaluate multiple technologies to solve a problem

Expertise in using the Health Catalyst Platform a plus

Strong relationship/team building, written and verbal communication skills

Strong problem-solving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions; tolerance in dealing with bad quality data

Knowledge of developing and maintaining formal documentation that describes data and data structures including data architecture, data infrastructure and data models

Team-oriented, goal-oriented and flexible with proven track record in collaborating with multiple stakeholders

Education & Relevant Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering or related field - in combination with experience, is required in order to understand relevant technology.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering or related field is preferred.
