The Owned Brands Team
Grove’s “Owned Brands” consist of the products we build from the ground up and capture the essence of Grove values; effective, beautiful, sustainable. Whether they carry the Grove name or that of one of our other owned brands, every aspect of these products is held to a very high standard, from the decision to add them to the assortment, through the formulation and all the way to the messaging of the products to the Grove community. 

The Role

    • The role of a Consumer Scientist is to lead the product research and consumer aspects of product development in the Home Care and Personal Care R&D groups for Grove’s Owned Brands working under the direction of Sr. Director of R&D.          
    • You will ensure all stakeholders and team members understand the technical challenges and provide them with relevant, available technical information and proper technical knowledge to succeed.
    • You will partner with development managers, in-house scientists, consultants, vendors, and contract manufacturer to ensure that proper specs and test methods are established before start up. 
    • You will manage studies and tests done at third party testing labs and then summarize and interpret results generated to the development team.
    • You will lead the certification of Grove Owned Brands through organizations including USDA Bio-Preferred, Safer Choice, EWG, and others.
    • You will manage the raw material approval process and the required documentation with key raw material suppliers.
    • You will work closely with the formulation team and other consultants.
    • You will help review relevant competitive market products, identify innovation and points of differentiation, and generate supporting data for sales meeting and other events.

About You

    • You have a BS in  Chemistry or related discipline or equivalent
    • You have 2-5 years of consumer product packaged goods experience. Experience in Home and Personal Care is an advantage.
    • You are familiar with basic statistical concepts and data treatment knowledge.
    • You have strong project management skills
    • You have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Ppt.
    • You have strong organizational, verbal, and written skills with intense attention to detail.
    • You are able to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
    • You are self motivated with an enhanced ability to work independently.
    • You are passionate about working in a value-based, dynamic B corp.
    • You are excited to working on team bringing truly differentiated, natural cleaning and personal care products to market.
