The Role
This is a new role for the first retail storefront of a new initiative from Grove. As our store leader you will be responsible for driving our business through building and staffing a world-class team with excellent operational and team management. You should be passionate about customer service while having extensive experience managing a high-volume retail store. In this role, you will work directly with our leadership team in San Francisco. 

Your Impact

    • Deliver an exceptional retail experience in our first offline presence and build a team culture that’s inclusive, positive, and passionate about serving and delighting customers
    • Source and hire a full store team and work closely with our leadership team pre-opening to ensure a smooth and successful launch
    • Be relentless about bringing our brand to life at every touchpoint
    • Drive the business through entrepreneurial leadership and ownership of financial reporting (4-wall P&L), weekly updates, and visual merchandising and store standards
    • Develop and train teams, recruit to fill positions with ambitious and best-in-class hires
    • Promote and monitor high quality service among all employees
    • Conduct regular employee reviews and maintain constant dialogue to ensure the happiness and well-being of each employee (open-door policy)
    • Provide constant feedback to store team and to headquarters to streamline and improve retail policies and procedures
    • Maintain procedures and systems such as: opening and closing, efficient ordering system for all necessary store supplies, and loss prevention security measures
    • Maintain a safe, healthy, and positive work environment for employees and customers

Who You Are

    • 5+ years work experience managing high volume retail, preferably in LA market
    • Self-starter with proven ability to motivate teams and manage projects
    • Highly driven to make the store a success and assist in setting the tone for our retail strategy
    • Experience with creation and implementation of sales and business strategy
    • Ability to motivate others and build effective teams
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
    • Experience with inventory management, stock takes and replenishment cycles
    • Experience in staff scheduling and management
    • Pride of ownership with store appearance, cleanliness and organization
    • Excellent communication skills and merchandising abilities
    • Desire to work evenings and weekends and critical retail times
